EDUCATIONAL STRUCTURE

SPAC Flagship Community Centre Mbomo

The first SPAC center was founded in November 2013 on the southern border of Odzala Kokoua National Parc. The premises provides a platform for various community-based programs and activities. The daily SPAC specialized preschool program reaches parents as well as community members, local associations, and authorities. It significantly contributes to a gentle change in the mindset of the villagers – especially concerning destructive behavior.

SPAC Mobile Classroom

With its expertise and educational offers in and around the National Park, the mobile classroom is aimed at the Pygmies. They are the poorest of the poor and do not have any access to education. SPAC became an expert in elementary education in rural areas and its unique challenges and needs. Our teachers visit the villages on a weekly basis to improve the children’s early learning through outdoor play – watched by their parents. And when children learn, parents learn!

Sabine Plattner African Charities has built a number of new preschools in peripheral villages of Odzala Kokoua National Park. In addition to the mandatory content of the national educational curriculum, SPAC teaches conservation via mutual education. Lessons about people and wildlife are integrated into the daily classes. Kids therefore learn at a very early age to find ways of creative and peaceful coexistence with nature – despite their difficult living conditions.

SPAC Conservation at Lisanga & Club Odzala

Our unique brand of conservational education encourages students to become ambassadors of their rich environment. To achieve this and to extend the commitment, Sabine Plattner African Charities has, among other things, launched a youth development program in the capital Brazzaville. Urban teenagers meet twice a month to learn from facilitators about the fauna and flora of their country, and to explore conservation challenges and solutions.
